The College of Picotechnology is part of the University of Minnesota. Back in the late 90s, Professors Ellie Siqueros and Leota Stoddart began a "skunk works" project in an unused lab in the Nano Center. They began investigating smaller and smaller technologies, and their work grew and grew. In the mid-2000s, the College of Picotechnology was officially founded. The college currently consists of:

 

  • Department of Biochemistry
  • Department of Cryptography
  • Department of Cybernetics

 

Recent Growth

The college recently expanded into a new area with the hire of Usagi Tuskino as Professor in the field of Television. A full announcement is available to read.

More Exciting News

The college will be hosting the annual symposium on picotechnology this coming semester. There will be presenters and participants joining us from around the world to discuss the future of this exciting area. Please look for new announcements in the near future.

Opportunities Galore in Pico

Picotechnology might be a "small" field now, but will soon be "large"! Submit your proposals to expand the college's curriculum into new areas. Please drop off the forms in the main office by the end of the semester.
