From Snack Works to Snack Emporium
Fletcher Garcia, master snacker, has demonstrated his capacity for snack acquisition. And if that means wearing a headband with large white bunny ears, so be it. Professor Garcia is Dean of the College of Snacking, which is part of the University of Minnesota. Back in the late 1900's Professors Sven Olafson and Soledad Sisu began a snack works project in a repurposed tropical fruit conservatory. Many hours spent studying the growing habits of pineapple and mango caused a great urge for snacking. Or was it a correlational urge? Regardless (and not irregardless), by 2025, the College of Snacking was founded. The college currently consists of:
- Department of Snackology
- Department of Snack Coding
- Department of Cybersnacks
Recent Growth
Through the generosity of snack enthusiast and philanthropist, Mr. Peabody, the College of Snackology recently received a $5 million gift to support the expansion of its Snack Emporium. Newly appointed director, Kitty Garcia, will head research and innovation as well as snack development. The Emporium will host an annual symposium on the future of snacks. An open call for presenters and snackers will be announced soon.
What was once an emerging field, snacking is now ubiquitous with life as we know it.
New member of the College of Snacking! Please welcome Kitty Garcia to the College. We are thrilled to have Kitty on our team.
